细数那些傻傻分不清的词组英语知识
同学们应该都有这样一种经历：总是有那么一些英语表达，明明每个词都认识，可是一旦组合在一起，就完全不知所云。这类表达方式涉及到的单词往往是非常基础的，而它们组队之后就可以表达出较为丰富的内容，下面就和小编一起来总结学习一下简单的单词组成的不简单的表达结构吧。
1．nothing is more…than… 和 nothing is so…as… ：
Nothing is more…than和nothing is so…as都具有最高级比较的.意思，Nothing可换用no，nobody，nowhere，little，few，hardly，scarcely等等，可译为“没有……比……更为，像……再没有了，最……”等。
例句：Nothing is more precious than time.
没有比时间更珍贵的东西了。
2．something (much) of 和 nothing (little) of：
something of相当于to some extent，表示程度。在疑问句或条件从句中，则为anything of，可译为“有点、略微”等。much of译为“大有……”，not much of可译为“算不上，称不上”，little of可译为“几乎无”。something like译为"有点像，略似。"
例句：They say that he had no university education, but he seems to be something of a scholar.
据说他没有接受过大学教育，但是他看上去有几分学者风范。
3．as…as…can (may) be：
意为“……得不能再……了”
例句：It is as plain as plain can be.
普通得不能再普通了。
4．It is in (with)… as in (with) ：
译为“……犹如……”，多数情况用in ，偶尔也可用with。这个句型是由 “as ……, so…… ”变化而来，相当于“As it is in（with）……, so it is in (with) ……”，as 和 so被省略。句型中的it在语法上无所指，是形式主语而已。
例句：It is with time as with the currents of water, once it goes, it never comes back again.
时间与流水一样，一旦流过就永不回来。
5．as good as…：
意为相等于，就像，几乎如；实际上，其实，实在。
例句：The merchant as good as promised the orphan boy, that he would adopt him.
那个商人实际上是答应了那个孤儿要收养他的。
6．might(may) as well：
表示“不妨”、“还是…为好”。用 might 比用 may 语气更委婉。
例句：This holiday isn’t much fun; we might as well be back home.
这个假日过得真没意思，我们还不如呆在家里。
7．make…of 使……成为……，把……当作
例句：I will make a scientist of my son.
我会把儿子培养成科学家的。
8．only (not/all/but/never) too…to do / too ready (apt) + to do：
在这两个结构中，不定式没有否定意义，凡是"not"，"all" "but等字后+"too…to，"不定式都失去了否定意义，在"too ready（apt）+to do"结构中，不定式也没有否定意义。
例句：You know but too well to hold your tongue.
你深知保持沉默的妙处。
9．not more … than = 不如……
no more … than = 和……一样不 (否定两者)
not less … than = 不如……不 (即指不如 less 后形容词的反面)
no less … than = 和……一样 (肯定两者)
例句：You are more careful than he is. 你比他仔细。
You are not more careful than he is. 你不如他仔细。
You are no more careful than he is. 你和他一样粗心。
You are less careful than he is. 你不如他仔细（你比他粗心）。
You are not less careful than he is. 你比他仔细（你不如他粗心）。
You are no less careful than he is. 你和他一样仔细。
10．not so much…as 和 not so much as…：
not so much…as……=rather than，其中as有进可换用but rather，可译为："与其说是……毋须说是……"。而not so much as=without（not）even，"可译为"甚至……还没有"。
例句：He was not so much angry as disappointed.
他的失望甚於恼怒。
Echo shall not so much as whisper my hiding place.
即使那回声也说不出我的藏身之处。
11．cannot…too…：
意为"It is impossible to overdo…"，即"无论怎样……也不算过分"。not可换用hardly，scarcely等，too可换用enough，sufficient等。
例句：You cannot be too careful.
你再怎么小心也不为过。
12．never... but...：
（1）意为“没有……不……”“每当……就……”
例句：She never reads a book but she goes to sleep.
她一看书就想睡觉。
（2）还有一种用法表示“不是……，而是……”，相当于not…… but ……的用法。表示这一用法时，注意but后连接是句子的某一并列成分，而不是完整的句子，这与表示双重否定时的 never …… but……不一样。表示双重否定的“never …… but ……”句型中的but后面一定是一个完整的句子。
例句：Many people never give up but get used to them and try their best to pursue their goals.
许多人从不放弃而是习惯于挑战并竭尽全力去追求他们的目标。
13．not so…but 和 not such a…but：
这两个结构和"否定+but"的结构差不多，不同之点是这两个结构中的"but"是含有"that…not"意味的连续词，表示程度。可译为"还没有……到不能做……的程度"，"并不是……不……"，"无论怎样……也不是不能……"等。
例句：He is not so sick but he can come to school.
他的病没有严重到不能上学。
14．疑问词+should…but 结构：
这个结构表示过去的意外的事，意为"none…but"，可译为"除了……还有谁会……"，"岂料"，"想不到……竟是……"等。
例句：Who should write it but himself?
除了他还有谁会写这个？
