I like ice-cream very much.. But my mother doesn’t. She thinks they are so cold , and maybe I will get a bad cough .
But I have a very kindly grandfather. The old man loves me so much because I’m his lovely grandson. Sometimes he buys me some ice-cream. Then my mother always lets me eat them , because she wants to make the old man happy.
One Saturday evening, it is my tenth birthday. I say ,“Please, God, give me a very big box of ice-cream for my birthday present.”My mother says, “God can’t hear you. Don’t cry so loudly. ”
“I know.”I say with a smile, “But my grandfather is in the next room. He can hear me.”
