Most people spend the New Year'sDay in hotels.January 1st is considered as the New Year's Day. most companies,shops,school,and government offices are closed during that time.People prepare for New Year's Dayfrom late December.Firt,people spend a few days to clean their houses completely.Some families then put up some new painting from November to be sent in January.The New Year's meal is also prepared from the end of December.During the New Year's Day,people usually do not cook and relax at home. On New Year's Eve,it is common to have a bag dinner with family members or friends at home or in hotels and hear bells which informs us of the coming New Year.On New Year's Day,people fiest greet each other. Some people wear new coats and visit temples to pray for happiness and health theoughout the New Year.Children are busy with getting the gifts from their parents and relatives.

At the first day of New Year, I was so excited that I got up very early in the morning. But Mother was earlier than me, and she had gotten the breakfast ready. Dumplings, that's my favourite. After the wonderful breakfast, I left home with my parents to visit our relatives. On the way, I said "Happy New Year" to everyone that I met and they all said that back to me. Everyone is happy and friendly. In my relatives' house, they prepared many sweets and snacks for visitors. They are all very delicious. The more exciting thing was that I got some money from my relatives. I had a fine day in my relatives' family.
My first day of New Year was very happy. It was a good start, and I would try my best to make this happiness last for the whole year.

今天，是一年一度的元旦，我们大家都很开心，心情也是十分激动。
我们大家一直等到下午吃完饭，然后就打算看元旦节目了，不过，在这之前，我们年级开了一个小会，一开始唱了会儿歌，然后就说了说元旦的注意事项。马上，我们就踏着轻盈的脚步，哼着欢快的歌曲，进餐厅了。
到了餐厅，老师安排好座位之后，倒数5个数之后精彩元旦就马上开始了。第一个是《英华畅想曲》，上面有一大群的人，有那小提琴的、吹笛子的、弹琴的……有很多的人，还有智慧的老师在最前面指挥。很快，这美妙的歌曲慢慢就过去了。很快就过去了很多舞蹈，有《木兰辞》、《我和小鸟拉钩钩》、《辣妞妞》……很快，我们屏住气息，很快就轮到了——我们班的舞蹈《吉祥孔雀》——之前老师还让我们看过原版的。
我们班张玄仪在里面是主演，还有我们班的赵高沐、李诗同、申晓雪，还有其他班的人在里面演。很快，美妙的旋律开始了，舞台上灯光满面。演员们化着妆，穿着绿色的孔雀衣服。台面上一眼望去，一片绿色。舞姿慢慢的舞动起来。舞台上仿佛拥有魔术一般，把大家看的眼珠子一动不动。很快一片热烈的声音响起，十分响亮。很快进入了高潮，一片片“孔雀”翩翩起舞，尾巴上的点点光闪亮动人。很快就结束了。元旦也很快就结束了。
今天真是开心的元旦啊!
