Confucius made great influence to Chinese culture by his Confucianism, and Dr. King push the progress to the liberty of the blacks in the America. They both made great contribution to their country, and how they made this? Part of the reason why, I think, is that they had dreams that care about the people in the world. And more important, in my opinion of view, they throw their entire lives to make their dreams come true. That means they always keep learning, learning from books and learning from living lives. And this is what we need to learn: have a dream in mind and keep pursuing on it.

　　Through this we see that a dream is something we can make it come true by our hard working, and this is what a dream is different from a reverie. See this means we need to take action, if we really have a good dream. We need study well in the school, we need focus on the direction of our dream, and we need to remind ourselves from time to time: don’t forget our dreams. Maybe when others are playing basketball, but you are at the desk to figure out the difficult math exercises; maybe when others are watching TV series, but you are still on the books which you need in your composition. 　　In the 21st century, the environment is becoming more and more important,so we have "Green Olympic" as a slogan. Of course a slogan is just a goal. Themost important thing is that we should do some things to make it true. Such assorting the trash, saving the energy and so on. We are still students now, so wecan't do anything really big, but if everybody does something good for ourenvironment, we could make our motherland more beautiful.

　　In fact, the things we can do are easy. Like not littering used batterieseverywhere, sorting the trash that we want to throw away, and also protectingthe animals and plants around us.

　　Luckily, I had a chance to take part in an activity, that is, we planted 5trees everybody in our campus. My classmates and I worked very hard. Thisactivity is not only about planting trees, but also contributing to ourenvironment. 　　It is also an honor, ladies and gentlemen, perhaps almost unique, for a private visitor to be introduced to an academic audience by the President of the United States. Amid his heavy burdens, duties, and responsibilities--unsought but not recoiled from--the President has traveled a thousand miles to dignify and magnify our meeting here to-day and to give me an opportunity of addressing this kindred nation, as well as my own countrymen acrothe ocean, and perhaps some other countries too. We must, and I believe we shall, prove ourselves equal to this severe requirement.

　　President McCluer, when American military men approach some serious situation they are wont to write at the head of their directive the words "over-all strategic concept". There is wisdom in this, as it leads to clarity of thought. What then is the over-all strategic concept which we should inscribe to-day? It is nothing lethan the safety and welfare, the freedom and progress, of all the homes and families of all the men and women in all the lands. And here I speak particularly of the myriad cottage or apartment homes where the wage-earner strives amid the accidents and difficulties of life to guard his wife and children from privation and bring the family up the fear of the Lord, or upon ethical conceptions which often play their potent part.

As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. /chuzhong/chusan/ 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

　　In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. 　　a poet leads me to a branch road: on one side, there are lots of sweet apples, lovely and charming; on the other, there is a patch of thorn, what hides behind the success of struggling against the thorn is a splendid palace. i deeply know that if i choose the apples, i will give up a precious opportunity of becoming a queen; while if i choose to challenge, i have to say farewell to the apples. which one should i choose?

　　just like the branch road, we have to make a lot of choices during our lifetime. it is usually considered that we are choosing what to gain, to own, but in my opinion, we are just choosing to give up.

　　choosing to be a teacher means giving up the life as rich as a business man;

　　choosing to be a top student means giving up much leisure time in front of the tv.

　　sure, it's a torture, but we must judge carefully what is more important, then give up the others. don't think of them any more, just focus all your spirit on what you are doing.

　　i myself, who is standing here, have already chosen to challenge in such a great competition, so i have to give up ten days of normal classes in school and relaxation without pressure. but i am still pleased, because giving up properly makes me stick to my choice.

　　the holes of the ozone layer make the earth less suitable to live for some creatures including human beings.Facing all the disasters made by ourselves,we have the responsibility to deal with the problem.

　　we must do something useful to protect our environment.We can plant trees and take good care of them.We can save the water and ask our parents to do so.We can't throw any litter onto the ground and we should collect them for recycling.If we take good care of our earth today,it will be more beautiful tomorrow.
