据有关权威报告说，如果一个人每天吸10至20根香烟，其患肺癌、喉癌、口腔癌、鼻咽癌至死的机率比不吸烟者高14倍之多。吸烟不仅对自己有害，而且对身边的人同样有害，因为烟雾里含有大量的“尼古丁”等有害物质，一旦吸入肺里其危害不亚于吸烟的人。
为了使人们意识到吸烟所带来的各种各样的危害，联合国特别制定了每年的5月31日为“世界无烟日”。目的是创造一个清新、环保、绿色的“地球村”，让全人类的生活环境变得更健康、更美好。
我想：我是一位少先队员，我有义务、有责任向人们宣传戒烟的重要性，让身边的每一位亲人、朋友、同学都远离香烟和拒绝吸烟，让我们的广州也成为一个“无烟城”。
