Along with the step of globalization, most students’ attention has shifted from Chinese toforeign cultures. Such a shift brought on great worries among people because it is not good forthe development of Chinese culture.
There may be several reasons account for why this phenomenon could happen. First andforemost, the globalization greatly stimulated the spread of foreign cultures, which in turnstirred great interest among Chinese students; second, college students are, to some extent,forced to study certain foreign languages so as to pass exams or find good jobs so that theycould not spare any time to study Chinese; last but not least, schools have no strict demandon students’ Chinese standard. No doubt, neglecting the study of Chinese will ;
ultimately holdback the development of Chinese culture, and Chinese people may lose their cultural identity insuch a competitive world.
In order change this situation and save our identity, due attention should be given to thestudy of Chinese. To begin with, government should put great efforts on the development ofChinese culture to make more people proud of it; besides, colleges and universities should makeexams more balanced, not simply emphasizing the importance of foreign languages; finally,schools should also attach great importance to the study of Chinese, making it a compulsory curriculum. Through these efforts, I think, chances of changing this phenomenon areprosperous.
Pollution: An Increasing Concern in China
It is reported that ten big cities in China are being ranked among the top twenty cities withthe highest pollution index in the world. This means it is high time we did something to bringthe situation under control.
Many factors are contributing to the deteriorating situation: industrial wastes pumped intothe air, the lakes and rivers; a increasing number of automobiles crowding into the streets; thewidespread use of plastic bags etc.
To my view, stiffer laws and regulations must be implemented to check pollution.Industries that release wastes without permission should be heavily fined. Cars should beequipped to minimize the exhaust they release into the air. And the use of plastic bags anddisposable meal boxes should be banned. What's more, the media should play an importantrole in implanting a sense of environmental consciousness into people's mind.
If everybody works toward a common goal of making the environment better, we cancreate a cleaner and lovelier world for us and for the coming generation.
Aid Education in China
Each year, college students, encouraged to aid students in the poverty-stricken areas,volunteer themselves in poor villages for a year and try to
improve education in poor areas.
Aid- education has been beneficial in two aspects. On the one hand, college volunteers arereally devoted to the cause. They have opened the eyes of students in underdeveloped regionsto the outside world by bringing them new knowledge and thoughts. As a result, they are extremely well received by the children there. On the other hand, college students have received a rigorous training by adapting to the harsh living conditions. They are enjoying the appreciation and no distance friendship from the children. What's more, they are greatly inspired by the moving and tireless
spirit of the children.
In my opinion, China's educational development can't be isolated from each individual andwe college students should take the lead in response to the appeal for offering aid to childrenin poor areas.
传统的价值观(Traditional moral values)
there's so much for me to talk about in terms of traditions of family and community as achinese. confucius alone gave us much food for thought which is still being advocated buthardly practiced today. for example, 'self-cultivation, regulating the family, managing thenation, and establishing peace all over the world', a standard conduct of the chinese society forthousands of years, is eclipsed by individual thirst to glean more fortune.
how one's own fortune goes curtainly prevail over how a nation's does. in china theammount of bribe money is astonishingly large and the number of corrupt officials which havebeen brought to the justice is not as large as those who are not yet. why do these civilservants risk their fame and even lives in defiance of law? greed and selfishness account for it.corrupton among public service is but a drop in the ocean when it comes to the demise of themorality. as i walked around the downtown the other day, i found people, with their fancyclothes and stylish hairdos ,appear too materialistic,which is not to my liking. wasn't there atime when things were simpler and people were more humble?once bogged down in privateinterest, one finds oneself blinded by the greed and selfishness.
advocating the traditional moral values about family and community is definitelynecessary. actually it has adopted by the chinese government as a key policy
to run the coounty by combining the rule of law with the rule of virtue ,
which is theessence of confucianism. i know modernization is necessary foradvancement .however ,ihope we will forget the traditional moral values along the way.
手机的利与弊(Advantages and Disadvantages of the Cell Phone)
nowadays,with the rapid development of it and information industry, cell phones play adominant role in towns people's life. but, like everything else, they have both favorable andmffavorahle aspects.first, it's useful. as a wireless mobile telephone, it's easy and handy to earlyto wherever one goes and call the callee however far away he is. therefore, it greatly facilitates people's life. second, it's convenient. whenever one meets trouble or
something urgent, one can nmke a call immediately. most important of all, it's a very helpful companion. with a
multifunction cell phone in hand, one can easily get on the net, browsing the
usefulinformation, conducting ecommerce and doing whatever one can do via internet.
however, just as everything has two sides, the cell phone also has many disadvantages. To
begin with, it's expensive to buy and costly to pay the hills, esp. that of
global service. tomake matters worse, it's also easy to lose and costly to get it repaired. worst of all,it's not asclear as a family telephone and sometimes the number dialed is often not available. last but notleast, it's alleged the microwaves in it might do harm to people's health. in my opinion, with its expenses greatly reduced after china's entry into the wto, it will face an ever brighter future inits development. someday most of them will be
developed into new intemet-enabled mobilephones, which will be as useful as pocket computers. and i believe its advantages will not only offset its disadvantages, but also far outweigh them.
预测:
Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others , however, think that change is always a good thing. Discuss both these views and giveyour own opinion.
Over the last half century the pace of change in the life of human beings has increased beyond our wildest expectations. This has been driven by
technological and scientific break throughs that are changing the whole way we view the world on an almost daily basis. This means that change is not always a personal option, but an inescapable fact of life, and we need to constantly adapt to keep pace with it.
Those people who believe they have achieved some security by doing the same, familiarthings are living in denial. Even when people believe they are resisting change themselves, they cannot stop the world around them from changing. Sooner or later they will find that thefamiliar jobs no longer exist, or that the ‘safe’ patterns of behavior are not longer appropriate.
However, reaching the conclusion that change is inevitable is not the same as assumingthat ‘change is always for the better.’ Unfortunately, it is not always the case that new thingsare promoted because they have good impacts for the majority of people. A lot of innovationsare made with the aim of making money for a few. This is because it is the rich and powerfulpeople
in our society who are able to impose changes(such as in working conditions or property developments ) that are in their own interests.
In conclusion, I would say that change can be stimulating and energizing
for individualswhen they pursue it themselves, but that all change, including that which is imposed on people,does not necessarily have good outcomes.
1.我们经常在公共场合见到各种不文明的行为,叙述你的一次相关经历;
2.这些不文明行为会有哪些影响;
3.我们应该怎样改善这种现象。
范文:Immoral Behaviors in Public
We have all seen or experienced it before---those inappropriate and often unsanitaryactions which disgust and annoy most cultured people in society. Spitting, littering, peeing inpublic---all these and others fall into this category. I personally had the embarrassingexperience one late night of seeing a man peeing alongside the river. He was not embarrassedat all.
Such inappropriate public behavior has a terrible effect on society. For one thing, mostunsanitary behavior can spread germs and diseases to the general public. For another, theycontribute to the pollution of the environment and show little or no consideration for theenvironment.
We must take steps as a society to improve this situation. Our government should sponsor public announcements and advertisements to emphasize the cultural in appropriateness of this kind of behaviors. Our schools and teachers should teach andenforce acceptable standards for all students. And in the home, parents, grandparents,aunties and uncles should all work together to teach the children what is right by example.
