在分析一个简单句时，要根据词类和词形以及句子结构，找出主谓关系，再分析其他词在句中的作用(定语、状语等)。倘是较长的复合句或主从句等，则应先把各个分句(clause)找出来，再按连接词的情况以及各个分句的意思，来确定各分句之间的关系，弄清确切的含义。
