1.go to bed
go to bed固定词组，意思是“上床睡觉”、“就寝”、“去睡觉”，强调准备睡觉的动作,不表示“睡着”在bed之前不加the、this、that、your等词。

2.go to sleep
其意思是“入睡”、“睡着”，强调“入睡”这个动作，即begin to sleep 。
When I was reading, I went to sleep.我在读书的时候睡着了。
3.get to sleep
其意思是“入睡”、“睡着”，强调进入睡眠状态，且多用于否定句、疑问句或条件句中。

4.be asleep
表示睡着的状态，asleep为形容词，表示“睡着，在睡觉的”，不可用very修饰，可用sound，first修饰。

5.fall asleep

作为名词，sleep是不可数的.，但如果sleep前有形容词修饰时，可用不定冠词 a（n），如：

2.nap 指小睡，打盹儿，a brief sleep。可指午睡，打瞌睡，短暂休息等。常指在白天小睡。

3.doze 打盹儿，指睡得较浅，时醒时睡。

The workers drowsed in the warm sun.工人们在太阳底下打盹儿。
5.slumber 表示休眠，沉睡。可写做：sleep peacefully and comfortably，指睡得安稳舒服。

6.repose 躺着休息，休养；也可表示长眠，安息

7.lethargy 昏睡；嗜睡
