大家都知道我们江南苏州，风景如画，花草遍地，而且还有美丽的太湖，水资源是非常丰富，殊不知我们虽然水资源丰富，但却经不起人们的浪费。
妈妈从小就教育我要节约用水，洗完手一定要把水笼头拧紧了。她自己也很节约，我经常看见她把淘米剩下的水用来洗菜或洗碗，她说这比洗洁精好，无毒无害;用最后一次的洗衣水用来擦地;每到下雨天，妈妈就会拿出一个水桶，放在窗外，我不解地问：“妈妈，这水有什么用啊?”妈妈笑着说：“我呀把雨水储藏起来，浇花用，对于花草它可比自来水有营养多了。”我拍着手说：“妈妈，你真节约，如果大家都这样节约的话，就会节省很多很多水资源了，那地球也不会面临枯竭了。”
现在人们的生活水平提高了，但却不知道节约我们的共同资源。有些消防栓被撞坏了，水哗哗地流;有些地方水管挖破了，等维修人员到时已流了一天了，这要浪费多少水啊?在一些公共场所，水笼头未关好的`是屡见不鲜。这样下去，人们的食用水会没有，而海水却会一步步的破坏我们生活的家园!

现在，我国的水土流失严重，据1992年卫星遥感测算，我国水土流失面积为179。4平方公里，占国土面积的18。7%。沙化迅速发展，沙化土地已达到149万平方公里，占国土面积的15。5%。水源污染也在明显加重，有42%的城市水源受到污染。
我家附近的大堤上有一条小河。原来，小河里的水清澈见底，水里还有自由自在游来游去的.小鱼儿。好景不长，人们经常把垃圾往河里到，一点也不爱护环境。所以导致河水变浑了，还发出阵阵难闻的气味，河里的小鱼也死了。
地球的这些水资源，森林资源，生物资源，大气资源……本来可以不断再生，长期给人类作贡献的。但是人们随意毁坏自然资源，使它们不但不能再生，还给人类的生存带来了严重的威胁，如：森林资源将长期工人类一代一代用下去，可是人们只坎树不栽树，不久后山秃了，还会带来水土流失，影响到水资源的保存。如果没有水，我们能活下来吗?
地球慷慨无私地养育着我们这个大家庭。难道我们不应该保护地球的生态环境吗?让我们一起维护地球的生态平衡，让地球更好地造福于人类，为人类作贡献吧!
