  一、教学目标:

  1.知识目标:

  (1)巩固月份单词;

  (2)学习询问生日的句型;

  (3)了解中西方主要节日所在月份;

  (4)了解同伴和父母的生日。

  2.技能目标:

  (1)能听、说、认读“询问生日”的句型;

  (2)能就调查生日的话题进行简单的对话交流。

  3.情感目标:

  将本节课的教学内容与学生的生活实际紧密联系,增强学生对英语的兴趣,培养学生大胆开口说的习惯,增进学生用英语思维的`意识。

  二、教学重点和难点

  1.本课时强化第一课时的句型:When is your birthday? My birthday is in…并听、说、认读新句型:Is your birthday in …, too?

  2.难点是引导学生根据实际情况使用多样化的表达方式。

  三、课前准备:

  (一)教师准备:

  1.根据教学内容制作的多媒体课件(①学生喜爱的明星照片 ②Let’s try 和Let’ talk以及本单元歌曲的VCD剪辑 ③Tree-planting Day, Army Day, Children’s Day, National Day, Christmas等节日的图片)

  2.准备蛋糕盒子一个。用蛋糕盒子底座做一份标有12个月份的大转盘。用彩色卡纸剪成蛋糕形状的圆形,再将每个圆分成12等分,写上12个月的缩写,摆成蛋糕形状。

  (二)学生准备:

  1.知识准备:已学第三单元的Let’s chant, Let’s learn A, 本单元歌曲《When is your birthday?》。已学关于12个月的相关歌曲《The Months》。

  2.学具准备:将一张白纸折成12个格子,每排4个,其中3个格子向后折;钢笔。

  四、教学过程:

  Step 1 Warm up

  (1)Song and Question:演唱《The Months》。老师和一名同学双手高高搭起,模仿一张“网”。 当同学们歌声响起,一部分同学手牵手,依次从“渔网”下钻过。歌声结束,教师和搭手的同学网住刚刚钻到网下的同学。其他同学可以向被网住的同学任意提三个问题。被提问的同学若能回答对,可回到座位。否则,将听老师或者同学指令做相应动作。该游戏可反复。

  [设计意图:让学生在活动中唱英语歌曲,一方面复习所学12个月的表达;另一方面鼓励学生相互交流,培养学生提问的能力。整个活动能让学生在轻松愉快的状态中学习英语。]

  (2)Let’s chant.

  学生念到自己生日所在的月份,就要做出相应动作。

  [设计意图:让学生边说边做,体会自己的生日在哪一个月,为学习对话奠定基础。]

  (3)Let’s say: “Which month is this?”

  教师揭开蛋糕盒子,出现月份转盘。教师先让儿童看转盘回答指针所指月份。再旋转指针,让孩子们猜月份。猜对者便可得到一份自己喜爱的月份蛋糕贴纸。

  [设计意图]由于月份单词数目较多,只依靠一个课时的学习不足以使学生牢固掌握对12个月份单词的听、说、认读。这个游戏就能使学生的听、说、认读能力得到强化。

  Step 2 Presentation.

  (1)Guess their birthdays.

  教师安排学生猜测几个明星的生日,使用PPT呈现本课的核心句型:

  When is his/her birthday?

  Is his/her birthday in …?

  [设计意图]学生通过猜自己喜爱的明星生日,学习用不同的表达方式询问别人生日。学生在反复猜的过程中,不断强化对月份单词的熟练程度。

  (2)Write the words of the 12 months

  Ask the students take out their paper. Play the BINGO game. Find the lucky boy or lucky girl.

  [设计意图]五年级对本单元单词教学的要求是能书写12个月的缩写形式。学生达到听、说和认读并不困难,但正确书写则有一定难度。BINGO游戏能有效缓解学生怕写的心理负担,教师也能快速地检查学生的书写情况。

  Step 3 Practice

  (1)Do a survey.

  T:We wrote nine months on the paper. Please look carefully and find which month is missing? Ask the students to write the rest words.

  The teacher ask two friends’ birthdays, then write them down.

  T:Now I know my friends’ birthdays. Do you want to know your friends’ birthdays?

  S:Yes.

  T:Please ask your friends like Miss Zheng.

  [设计意图]学生运用“宾狗”游戏所写的表格,要求学生通过补充出表格中所缺少的月份单词进一步操练单词的书写。在此基础上过渡到同伴生日调查,教学重点从书面转到口头,从词汇转到句型。同时,利用调查的方式可以弥补大班教学学生开口机会相对较少的弊病。

  (2)Give reports.

  T:I have two friends, Miss Zeng and Miss Fang. Miss Zeng’s birthday is in August. Miss Fang’s birthday is in April. Who can give a report like me?

  [设计意图]调查结果的汇报,检查了学生运用所学语言进行交际的能力,又培养了学生倾听他人说活的习惯。

  a)Watch TV.

  教师已将对话内容的教学光碟进行剪辑。相应内容已做成幻灯片,学生不允许翻书观看。

  T:Amy’s birthday is in February. When is Mike’s birthday? What about Zhang Peng? Let’s watch TV.

  After two times, teacher asks the students to answer the questions.

  [设计意图]训练学生在通过听音在音、形、义之间建立联系,并能就听到的内容做简单地预测。

  b)Read the sentences. (教师点击鼠标,出现对话文字内容)

  c)Encourage the students to recite the dialogue.(教师给学生一分钟左右识记对话内容,然后点击鼠标,部分对话内容消失,请学生补充完整。)

  [设计意图]此环节训练学生瞬时记忆,并培养学生抓关键词记忆的能力。

  (5)When is Tree-planting Day/Children’s Day... ?

  小组活动。目的是进行知识的拓展。学生看节日图片,使用新句型相互讨论询问所在地月份。

  Step 4 Assessment

  T: Class! You have done a very good job today. Many students got the birthday cakes. Please show me your birthday cakes. Let’s count! Who is the best?

  [设计意图]通过清点自己所得的“蛋糕”,让学生品尝成功的喜悦,进而激发学生今后在英语课堂上大胆开口说英语的自信心。

  Step 5 Add-activities.

  五、课后反思

  课前,我调查出学生最喜爱的明星,然后查找资料,做成相应幻灯片。实际运用中,非常受学生喜欢。评价工具的设计,也有效调动了孩子们的积极性,同时它和教学内容也浑然一体,与新课程所倡导的课堂评价的理念不谋而合。新课程强调以学生为主体,倡导体验参与,在学习过程中,运用适当的评价,培养学生学习兴趣,促进语言实际运用能力的提高。在这个教学设计抓住了学生的兴趣点,学生在课堂上就能大胆的用英语交流、去表达。调动了学生的学习热情。
